Best New MAD Blog Finalists

We love finding new blogs and it’s been wonderful sifting through all those nominated for the best new MAD blog.  Our finalists have all been blogging for less than a year but have already built up a loyal following and a great readership.  To celebrate their achievements the winner of the best new MAD blog will receive a trip on the London Eye followed by dinner at Chez Gerrard, thanks to sponsor Born Free.

1/5: Mummy Central

Twitter: @mummy_central

Why We Love It: Mummy Central houses the lively chatterings of Donna and Elizabeth, two mums with five children between them. Here they write about the latest events, the coolest new products and must-have trends, as well as recipes, crafts and child-friendly ideas.  Particularly fun is their ‘if I ruled the world’ page – I’m sure we can all think of a few rules we’d like to add!

3/5: Babylon Lane Tales

Twitter: @elsieanderton

Why We Love It: Elsie Anderton writes Babylon Lane Tales, home to categories such as Tales from the Crib and Vintage Gluttony.  Naturally witty and bordering on the confessional, it’s no surprise this blog has become a firm favourite.  Elsie lets her chickens clean the kitchen floor, adopts a wardrobe filing system where dirty clothes do another day, and hides her paperwork in the oven.  We love her.

4/6: Mammy Woo

Twitter: @mammywoo

Why We Love It: Lexy Ellis fully intends to change her name to Mammy Woo one day.  Check out Mammy’s rules, which remind you that a day without laughter is a day wasted.    Lexy also runs the Moaning Bitch club, a safe haven to disappear to when you just have to have a good rant.  She’s unpredictable, she’s in your face, she’s a little bit crazy, she’s Mammy Woo.

5/5: SAHM Loving It!

Twitter: @sahmlovingit

Why We Love It: Blogging for just six months, Heather’s site is a gorgeous mix of musings, photos and tales of life with Mini Cheddar.  Although a stay at home mum, Heather’s always busy, giving up her Fridays to volunteer with Save the Children and writing with passion about her motivation for giving her time to help others.
